Misc.: A variety of things put into a group. A word used to describe many different objects compiled together.
Now that you know the definition (just in case), i'll tell you more about this. Well, I made this page 'cause there's a lot of different things I like but I don't wanna make a seperate page for them so I threw them all together. Oh, don't worry I didn't actually throw them 'cause that would just be cruel. Now they're all friends and it would really hurt their feelings if you only looked at one thing, so please look at them all....that way no one gets hurt. :)
Time Poem
To realize the value of
one year:
Ask a student who has failed
a final exam.
To realize the value of
one month:
Ask a mother who has given
birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of
one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly
newspaper.
To realize the value of
one hour:
Ask the lovers who are
waiting to meet.
To realize the value of
one minute:
Ask the person who has
missed the train, bus or
plane.
To realize the value of
one-second:
Ask a person who has survived
an accident.
To realize the value of
one millisecond:
Ask the person who has
won a silver medal in the
Olympics.
Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you
have. You will
treasure it even more when you can
share it with someone special.
We learn . . .
10% of what we read
20% of what we hear
30% of what we see
50% of what we see
and hear
70% of what we discuss
80% of what we experience
personally
95% of what we teach
others.
Winners Vs losers
A winner says, "Let's
find out"; a loser says "Nobody knows."
A winner makes commitments;
a loser makes promises.
A winner says, "I'm
good, but not as good as I ought to be"; a loser says," I'm not as bad
as a lot of other people."
A winner credits
his "good luck" for winning - even though it wasn't his/her good luck;
a loser blames his/her "bad luck" for losing - even though it wasn't his/her
bad luck.
A winner listens;
a loser just waits until it's his/her turn to talk.
A winner respects
those who are superior to him/her and tries to learn from them; a loser
resents the superiority of others and tries to find chinks in their armor.
A winner does more
than his job; a loser says, "I only work here."
A winner says, "I
fell"; a loser says, "Somebody pushed me."
Should you find it
hard to get to sleep tonight Just
remember the homeless
family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself
stuck in traffic; don't despair.
There are people in
this world for whom driving is an
unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad
day at work; Think of the man who
has been out of work
for the last three months.
Should you despair
over a relationship gone bad; Think of
the person who has
never known what it's like to love and
be loved in return.
Should you grieve the
passing of another weekend; Think
of the woman in some
third world country, working twelve
hours a day, seven
days a week, for $15.00 to feed her
family.
Should your car break
down, leaving you miles away from
assistance; Think
of the paraplegic who would love the
opportunity to take
that walk.
Should you notice a
new gray hair in the mirror; Think of
the cancer patient
in chemo who wishes she had hair to
examine.
Should you find yourself
at a loss and pondering; what is
life all about, what
is my purpose? Be thankful. There are
those who didn't live
long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself
the victim of other people's
bitterness, ignorance,
smallness or insecurities;
Remember, things could
be worse. You could be them!!!
